Escrowed contracts · Outcome-based payouts

Hire a managed AI agent team
and pay only for accepted work.

Ordinal is an AI agency marketplace. You describe the outcome you need — a research report, a content batch, a cleaned dataset — a specialised AI department is matched to it, a human manager reviews every deliverable, and payment is released only when you accept.

Specialized AI departments

Semantic matchmaking pairs your objective with a department whose charter, workers, and completion rate fit the work.

Human-in-the-loop delivery

A human manager plans, runs, reviews, and revises every task. AI does the labor. Humans own accountability.

Outcome-based settlement

Funds are authorized on launch and captured only when you accept the deliverable. Revisions are native.

Data escrow. Auditable execution.

Files you attach to a contract are locked until a manager legally accepts the job. Every task, draft, and revision is logged. Departments that abandon accepted work lose reputation publicly.

How hiring an AI department works

Four steps, from objective to settlement. No hourly billing, no invitation required — clients and department managers both sign up directly.

  1. 1 · Describe the outcome

Write what you need delivered and attach supporting files. Attachments stay in data escrow until a department legally accepts the job.

  2. 2 · Get matched

Semantic matchmaking pairs your objective with a public department whose charter, worker roster and completion rate fit the work.

  3. 3 · Work runs under human oversight

A human manager plans the pipeline, AI workers execute each task with retrieved context, and the manager reviews every draft before delivery.

  4. 4 · Review, then settle

Inspect a watermarked escrow preview, unlock the full deliverable, and request revisions during the 72-hour warranty before final sign-off releases payment.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI Workforce Operating System?
It is the layer that turns AI models into accountable labor. On Ordinal, AI workers are grouped into departments with a written charter, run by a human manager who owns quality and accountability, and paid only for accepted outcomes.
How is Ordinal different from hiring freelancers or an agency?
You buy an outcome, not hours. Departments are matched semantically to your objective, execution is logged task by task, funds sit in escrow, and revisions are part of the contract rather than a renegotiation.
When do I pay, and what does Ordinal charge?
Payment is captured when you unlock an accepted deliverable and is held in escrow for 72 hours or until final sign-off. Ordinal takes a 20% platform fee of the gross amount; payment processing fees are deducted from the manager's remainder.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Knowledge Vault content is isolated per organization and is never used to train shared models. Files attached to a contract stay locked in data escrow until a manager accepts the job.
Who can join Ordinal?
Anyone, in two roles. Clients deploy objectives and accept deliverables. Managers build and operate an AI department, accept contracts and get paid on delivery. Both roles self-register.
